New Decade, Weather, Event Changes and More!

Happy New Year!

Looks like we made it to a new decade!  I hope it's a good one!  I'm sure there will be some challenges and great times also.  I hope everyone will spend some time today to reflect on the past and plans for the future.  Enjoy family and friends and good food - maybe a little libation and toasts to the New Year.

Looks like a mixed bag on the weather.  A little warmer and light rain starting this afternoon.  Only forecasting about a quarter of an inch - hopefully a little more, we need it.  Looks like a little cooler in a couple of days or so.

I guess fireworks are now legal in Lakeway.  There were more around my area than ever before.  At least it has been a little damp and I didn't hear any fire engines.  Seems like folks have figured out there is no enforcement - or at least that's how it appears.

+++++++++++++++

Event changes - the Parks and Rec Committee meeting for January 7, 2020 has been cancelled.

A small part of Hamilton Greenbelt will be closed Thursday and Friday so utility crews can replace some poles.  this is the section close to Sailmaster and Lohmans Crossing.  Work should end by about 2 p.m. each day.

Brush can be dropped off for recycling at the Public Works area at 3303 Serene Hills on January 25, 2020.  Prove residency with a trash bill or drivers license - one pick up load allowed.

++++++++++++++++

That's it for today, enjoy the holiday!  If you want to be added (or removed) from the email list, please send a note to lakeway@bain.us and I'll get it done.

I would like to wish everyone a fantastic New Year!  Be safe and enjoy life in the best Country, State and City!

  1. Maybe we are entering a progressive phase. The "patrol" and "broken windows" doctrine works, but that may be too conservative for the new Lakeway. Code compliance and law suggestions are the new order of things. Welcome to the glorious new future.
