2.83 Inches of Rain, Budget Workshop and Police Report!

So far, I have received 2.83 inches of rain on my gauge.  What a GREAT way to start August!

Council held the second Budget Workshop today.  We accepted a proposed tax rate of $0.1741, about a $0.0129 cent increase, much less than expected with the additional bond expense which was estimated at $0.0249.  The "proposed" tax rate means we cannot go above the amount accepted today.  The next budget workshop is August 21 at 2 p.m.

From the Chief:
LPD Officers conducted 125 traffic stops, responded to 16 alarm calls, responded to 13 animal calls, responded to 10 collisions, answered 22 suspicious circumstances calls and handled 94 other types of calls for service for a total of 280.
