The weather has been very interesting this Spring! Dryer than average May and June is supposed to be a little wetter and cooler - works for me! The weather information on my station seems to be correct now including the rain data - here's a link. There is also a link at the top right of the blog.
Don't forget the July 4th festivities are coming up before you know it - there is a link at the top of the blog to the application to be part of the parade. Let's make this one a GREAT one!
On June 14th raise your flag and fly it proudly to show your respect for the United States flag and what it represents: freedom, independence and unity. Lohmann's Ford Chapter, NSDAR, will sponsor a National Flag Day Observance at Lakeway Heritage Park at 10 a.m. on June 14th to commemorate the adoption of the US flag on June 14, 1777. Brig. Gen. Richard T. Drury, USAF (ret.) will be the guest speaker. Area residents will be recognized for proper display of the flag. DAMAGED FLAGS WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR PROPER RETIREMENT DURING THE FLAG DAY OBSERVANCE. Lakeway Heritage Park is located at the intersection of Lohman's Ford Crossing and Hurst Creek in Lakeway.
Also on Flag Day we will host the AT&T "It Can Wait" simulator at the Activity Center - it's free and you can demonstrate how well you really drive while texting. Times when I get them.
The Parks and Recreation department has been busy! Here is a link to Director Andra Bennett's report. Check it out!
Couple of items to report on 620 issues. We have finally come to a conclusion on the signs for Glen Heather and Main St. where it intersects 620 (thanks for the reminder and help Ms. Barcik) and new signs are on order. We anticipate correction sometime later this Summer.
Steve Jones and I are meeting with Victor Vargas next week also. We are hoping to come to an agreement on how to pay for and fix the new intersection at Flintrock Road and 620. Currently I envision taking out part of the median and making it a double left turn. I'll report on any agreement next week. We are also looking to further improve the issues at 620 and the light at HEB.
We had an overwhelming turnout at the Quarter Century Club luncheon Friday. Last year we had a little over 100 that attended and this year almost 200 came to the luncheon. This is a wonderful group of folks, some of which have lived in Lakeway well over 40 years. Many were instrumental in making Lakeway the wonderful place to live that it is.
There's been some reports that housing prices are down in Lakeway and sales are down. These reports are generally month over month from one year to the next. I had a conversation with Keith Falcone, a Broker Associate with RE/MAX Lake Travis and here is the factual information. Change from previous year, $ per sq. Ft., and Sales per Day. Thank you Keith for providing this GREAT data.
CBC will meet next week in regular session - here is their agenda.

Staff and our Financial advisor held a conference call with Moody's Investors Services to answer questions for an update for our bond rating. We expect to continue with our Aa1 rating, hte second highest. I would love a Aaa rating but our tax base is about 4.2B and would have to be over 10B for that.
