It's another beautiful Friday! Get ready, I hear Spring thunderstorms are on the way this weekend! We had a pretty good rain last week, about 7 tenths at my house - expecting another inch between Saturday and Sunday.
Monday evening we had a "Town Hall" with a presentation on the proposed Police Station. I was a little disappointed with the turnout but we did get many good questions. We are moving forward and have two more Town Halls scheduled - April 6 and April 20 at the Activity Center at 6:30. We are also trying to get into neighborhoods to talk to small groups to answer questions and concerns. If you would like to host a small group, send me an email at lakeway@bain.us and I'll try to set one up! Can't hurt to get real information. You can also view the presentation on your computer at this link - police presentation.
Central Texas Water Coalition is holding their annual Crawfish Boil at the Sundancer Grill on April 22. It's a fun time and supports our lakes - come down and we can talk lake talk or anything else having to do with Lakeway. Here's a link to the web page.
Looks like LCRA has Lake Travis right at full pool - this morning it was at 681.12. They are expecting rain this weekend and are doing a great job managing the levels this year.
Homeowners and nonprofits can now take advantage of two free products, Lake Travis Slate and Hill Country Mocha, two latex paints made at the Lake Travis Regional Reuse and Recycling Center. The center will host a paint giveaway and reuse day from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. April 7 at 3207 Neidhardt Drive in Austin. This is not a collection event; please do not bring items to the center.
The annual "Eggstravaganza" is coming up! Here is a link to all the needed info - it will be a fun day for egg hunts and the Easter Bunny!

We are still working on legislation issues. We have a ground water district HB922 (I'm OK with), SB 2 - takes away some taxing authority, SB 451 that would gut our Short Term Rental Ordinance,
a couple of tree bills that would take away much of our Oak Wilt restrictions and several more we are watching.
We are at the point of advertising for a contractor to do the overlay for Hurst Creek Road. <Vote for Prop 2 - that is where we get the money to keep our streets maintained> We will open bids on April 28 and it will come to Council May 15 - expect work to start in June after school is out - there will be traffic delays while this work goes on.
