I didn't put this in the blog yesterday so I thought I'd get it out today. May is coming up, we have 2 Council Members who's terms are expiring, Bridget Bertram and Ron Massa.
Both have expressed an interest in running for re-election. If you have interest in becoming involved with your city government, here is a link to some information on the web page and dates you will need to know.
In order to be a viable candidate along with the rules listed, you should probably be attending the commission meetings and council meetings. It is also a good step to get on a commission to get a feel for city government.
If you have interest, I suggest you contact an existing council member and learn about the time requirements and necessary involvement. You can also contact me and I will be happy to share my experiences.
