It's been a short week, but it seems like a long one! Can you believe the weather? Cold, wet, warm, wet and now 2 beautiful days in a row. I hear it's going to be windy this weekend.
I was honored this week to speak at the Lake Travis Republican Club meeting along with Chief Radford. Lots of good questions and a very enjoyable luncheon.
Our City Council meeting was held Tuesday evening because of the Martin Luther King Holiday on Monday. We voted to approve a final plat in Serene Hills and also voted to amend the Short Term Rental ordinance - we basically excluded condominiums from the 1000 ft rule and also from the maximum count but still require them to get licensed and follow all the rules. We added the age of 18 as an adult when counting 2 adults per bedroom. Good discussion!
We attended the Lake Travis Chamber Economic Forecast luncheon at the Bee Cave Sonesta. Lots of good information and Steve Jones spoke on the happenings and things coming up in Lakeway.
This morning I closed on some property the City purchased at City Park. This was .66 acre that had been exclude from the original park purchase many years ago, it has an old house on it and will be included in the park property. We are planning to tear down the house and return the property to a natural state. There is also a water well on the property and we plan to repair it and it will be backup water for Rebel field. We wound up paying $75K for the property that had an initial asking price of about $170K. Good deal for the city and the owner.
CBC will meet in regular session next Thursday, here is that agenda.
