Another week has come and gone - sounds like we need to get ready for a rain event!
Lakeway Police will be doing another "Drug Take Back" program from 10-2 on April 30th. It will be held at the Lakeway Justice Center, 104 Cross Creek - this is the 9th time they have hosted a venue for Lakeway Residets to properly dispose of unwanted and unused medications. Thank You!
I learned this week that Rough Hollow has won "Master Planned Community of the Year", Best Lifestyle for Master-Planned Community and Best Unique Feature for the Marina and Grille! Please congratulate them on these wonderful awards! Here's a link to more info.
Please consider voting for James Oakley for our PEC representative in May - he is running for re-election to that post and is currently President of the Board - here is a link to his bio. He is a GREAT representative for our City!
Looks like TxDOT is starting on the project to add a lane between Lakeway and Bee Cave - I noticed they are working to move the traffic light supports out of the way of construction.
Next week the Board of Adjustment will meet to hear two cases - here is a link to the Agenda for April 20.
Monday Council will meet in regular session - here is that agenda. Looks like a fairly short agenda.
I mentioned last week I had asked the Police to step up their enforcement of Distracted Driver ordinances - so far in April they have made 41 Cell Phone Related stops. It Can Wait! We can make a difference, put the phone away when driving!
Please support the "Relay for Life" event Saturday at 6:00PM at the High School Track area. Raising money through the Relay For Life of Lake Travis, we help the American Cancer Society save lives and finish the fight against cancer.
The Culvert project on Coldwater Cove is moving ahead - all 5 concrete pipes are now installed and they are working on the head walls.
The Justice Center Advisory Committee met this week to hear and discuss a presentation from Julie Oakley and our financial advisor, Jennifer Douglas, on how to finance large capital projects and the effect a justice center could have on our tax rate. The committee will discuss and evaluate possible locations at their next meeting, and follow that with planning the components of a new facility.
