Steve Jones and I have plans to meet with Victor Vargas of TxDOT next week to get schedule information on the improvements to 620. We also have a meeting with Terry McCoy, Director TxDOT to make sure we are doing all we can to improve the traffic situation. More on the meetings next week.
With all the bad weather over the past couple of weeks, STAR Flight has been busy with rescues - here is a link to a "hoist" rescue. Following the rescue, Travis County Sheriff's took the man into custody for disregarding the barricade and transported him to booking. We need to convince people to turn around - don't drown! Let's stop putting our first responder's at risk!
Lakeway Regional Medical Center had been busy doing good! Here are links to a couple of press releases, one on the use of Radial Artery Cardiac Catheterization to to treat a female heart attack patient, and the second on performing a successful Cystectomy Surgery on a patient for the United Arav Emirates.
The Board of Adjustment met this week to hear two cases related to view blocking. The Board upheld CBC's determination at 121 Star Drive. The second case was tabled (511 Flamingo) to allow the builder to make some changes to the home design and placement and will return to CBC for a second review.
Andra Dearing says the parks department has been busy at the Swim center in preparation for summer. They have two new managers who are training and preparing for the season.

Routine traffic stops resulted in the
following charges; Out of Jurisdiction
Warrant X 3, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia X 7, Possession of a Controlled
Substance X 4, Driving while Intoxicated
X 2, Possession of Marijuana X 1.
A Deerhorn Court resident reported that
while walking on the Hamilton Greenbelt, a group of three dogs attacked her
dog, the dog was treated at home and was current on vaccinations, the identity
of the owner of the three dogs is unknown, and they were not captured.
Officers responded to a disturbance
call on Cutty Trail, an argument was determined to be verbal only; no charges
were filed in this case.
Officers responded to a RR 620 S.
business reference a disturbance, an employee of the business had broken up a
relationship and was requesting the other person leave his work, both were
advised no charges were filed.
Officers responded to a Seawind address
in reference to a theft, the report indicates that a gentlemen reported that a
tenant had stolen some property from a rental unit. This case is being
investigated.
Officers responded to a RR 620 S. bank
in reference to an intoxicated person inside the bank, upon arrival it was
learned that the person suffered from a medical condition and had not been
drinking, the subject left the bank with a relative.
CIU Members instructed this week’s CPA
course (Investigations and Crime Scenes). The students were exposed to a mock
criminal investigation (sexual assault) in which they processed a crime scene,
learned how to lift fingerprints, and interviewed a “victim” and “suspect”.
CIU Detectives were assigned to
investigate a report of a suspicious circumstance that occurred in the 100
block of Lakota Pass. According to the
complainant, an elementary school student had just got off the school bus when
she witnessed an unknown white male subject in a white four-door pickup truck
make several hand gestures towards her, as if he was attempting to lure her into
his vehicle. Detectives have been
following up on numerous leads, and the investigation is ongoing.
