LCRA Water Release, Bus Tour, BOA Meeting and Police Blotter

The weather has been fantastic, including beautiful days with a little rain occasionally.  The lakes are full and with the additional rain LCRA will be passing some water through from Buchanan eventually to the Gulf.  Buchanan is 3 feet short of full but they are working on the dam there and they want to keep the level where it is, hence the floodgate operation.  Here is a letter from LCRA describing the situation.

Don't forget the Indoor Garage Sale today at the Lakeway Activity Center.  Here's a link to more info!

Steve Jones and I have plans to meet with Victor Vargas of TxDOT next week to get schedule information on the improvements to 620.  We also have a meeting with Terry McCoy, Director TxDOT to make sure we are doing all we can to improve the traffic situation.  More on the meetings next week.

With all the bad weather over the past couple of weeks, STAR Flight has been busy with rescues - here is a link to a "hoist" rescue.  Following the rescue, Travis County Sheriff's took the man into custody for disregarding the barricade and transported him to booking.  We need to convince people to turn around - don't drown!  Let's stop putting our first responder's at risk!

Lakeway Regional Medical Center had been busy doing good!  Here are links to a couple of press releases, one on the use of Radial Artery Cardiac Catheterization to to treat a female heart attack patient, and the second on performing a successful Cystectomy Surgery on a patient for the United Arav Emirates.

Andra Dearing says the parks department has been busy at the Swim center in preparation for summer.  They have two new managers who are training and preparing for the season.
