Water Issues, July 4th, Hands Free Ordinance

It's already Friday again - rain in the forecast and it's getting HOT - still no 100 degree days though.  It appears the "Emergency Order" that is prohibiting LCRA from sending irrigation water downstream is set to expire shortly.  They (LCRA) are asking to keep the order in place or a similar one until the new plan can be accepted.  Lake Buchanan is still only about half full and folks on the North end are still dry as a bone.  There is a hearing on July 1st, here is a link to more information.

It's been a pretty quiet week around the City, Building and Development are still working hard to get caught up.  Permit timing is about 2.5 weeks out if there are no issues.  Still have a lot of roof permits coming in, hopefully we will be able to completely catch up in a couple more weeks.

The City is getting ready for the annual July 4th festivities - I hope all of you can attend.  The parade will feature the 36th Infantry Division Band, a flyover of 4 vintage Aircraft, the Lake Travis High School Band, the Cavalettes, Wells Fargo stagecoach, Lake Travis Fiddlers and much more - get there early!

The Parade starts at 8:30AM at the Live Oak Driving Range on Lakeway Dr. and ends at Cross Creek adjacent to the Lakeway Activity Center.  the Pageantry of Flags will follow the Parade at 10:30 in the Activity Center.  The Parade and Pageantry of Flags are free and open to the public.  The Swim Center will be open from noon to 6PM with admission of $3 per person all day.

The new Hands Free Ordinance will be enforced starting July 1. Here is a link to more information.

City Hall exhibit captures Lakeway resident's love of nature - The artwork of Lakeway resident Shirley Hosmer will be on display through Aug. 6 at Lakeway City Hall Art Gallery.
Gallery hours are from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays at Lakeway City Hall, 1102 Lohmans Crossing.  Here's a link to more info!

ZAPCO will meet in regular session on July 1st in Council Chambers - here is the agenda.

That's all for today - more as I find out!  Have a GREAT weekend and be safe out there!
