More on Prop 1, The Rest of the Week

You have probably noticed some signs on 620 about voting against Prop 1.  This is the County's Prop 1 and has to do with the Healthcare District.  Here is a link to more information.  Going to cost the average home in Lakeway over $500 a year, ugh.

Prop 1 for the City of Lakeway will be somewhere else on the ballot - please look for it.  Here is a link to more info on the GOOD Prop. 1!

The Parks and Recreation Committee will meet in regular session Monday, October 8th at 5PM in Council Chambers.  Here is a link to the agenda.

CBC (City Building Commission) will meet in regular session October 11th in Council Chambers at 9AM.  Here is a link to that agenda.

Last Saturday's National RX Take-Back Day resulted 257 Pounds of Medications being collected by the Lakeway Police - what a success!

Looks like Bee Cave is going to have an elderly care facility on Hwy 71.  Their City Council approved two buildings on Hwy 71 near Falconhead West - one, a 43,630-square-foot facility operated by Silverado Senior Living which will serve 90 patients with memory impairments, the other operated by Meridian Realty and will provide long-term care and specialized rehabilitation for about 120 residents in a 55,125-square-foot building.

Tonight is "Dancing With the Stars" supporting the Lakeway Library.  It is being held at the Oasis from 6-11 PM to raise money for the new Library building on Lohmans  Crossing.

From Steve Jones:

Chessie Blanchard-Zimmerman reported all ZAPCO items were approved at the meeting this week.  Here is that agenda.

Paul Duncan reports that the new Starbucks in Lakeway Towne Centre is working on their site development punch list and they are a few weeks away from their opening.

Chief Radford reports that National Night Out was successful.  Officers attended 21 meetings - the largest we've ever had!

The Lakeway Visitors Commission will meet next Monday at 9:00AM.  The main agenda item will be to establish a mission and objectives for the commission.

You may notice some construction activity at the log cabin.  We are removing the ceiling and second story flooring so that it can be replaced with something more period correct.  We are also installing period correct hardware on the doors and windows.  We recently installed exterior lighting, which will be operational soon.
