Bond Issue and Much More!

The week has flown by hasn't it?  There's still a lot going on in the City so lets get to it!

First, you have probably seen some signs in folks yards to vote FOR Proposition 1.  This authorizes the City of Lakeway to issue bonds for the purpose of rebuilding Flint Rock Road.  This is a GOOD deal!

Flint Rock Road handles 4000+ cars a day - many are High School Student and other City residents.  If you have ever traveled the road, you know it winds around and goes up and down the hills - Flintrock residents use this as their main entrance.  Traffic for the new Hospital also uses this road.

Why is it a good deal?  Because in November 2011 citizens voted for the Travis County Bond package that includes money for over half of this project!  If we don't pass the bond, this money will default back and will be spent on projects in other areas of Travis County!  At current rates, the bonds will cost the Lakeway citizens $.007 per $100 - almost imperceptible on the tax bill!

Lets vote for Proposition 1 and get this needed job done.  Let me know if you have questions and I'll try to answer them!

Don't forget National Night Out (NNO) is coming up on October 2, 2012.  This is a good time to get out and meet your neighbors!  Set up your block party and contact Captain David Crowder or Officer Eric Barto at the Police Department and they will have an officer come by and talk about neighborhood safety.  Currently there are 17 different community meetings scheduled.

From Steve Jones:

There have been some comments about the faded lane striping on RR 620 - the paint is faded and hard to see at night and when it rains.  TxDot has been contacted and it is scheduled for fresh paint.

The City Closed on the sale of "underwater" property adjacent to 1221 Challenger - it is 1,400 sq. feet and sold for $5000.00.

The annual Police Gala is scheduled for Thursday, December 13 at Lakeway Resort and Spa.  It is a FUN party and supports our Police Foundation that helps officers!  Put it on your calendar and I'll have information on tickets soon.
