Special Edition - Council Workshop, AT&T, Police

Just found out that over 2,100 folks have already voted at Randall's - this is a GREAT turnout! Normally on a mid term election the count would be less than 100 at this point. GOOD JOB!

There will be a Council Workshop Monday, October 25th to present the Annexation study to the Council and work through issues on how this study interfaces with the City's Comprehensive plan. Here is the agenda.

You might have seen some of the work being done around the city by AT&T. They are installing a fiber network that will enable their U-verse product. There have been some issues with equipment installation that the City has some concern with. Steve Jones is meeting with a representative from AT&T to see what options are available in these situations.

The Lakeway Police Academy Alumni Association met last night and elected officers for the upcoming year. To join this organization, you must attend the Lakeway Police Academy - this is a GREAT opportunity to learn and become involved with the local police - fantastic experience! I'll have contact information and dates for the next class soon.

More Police News - For the first time in a long time the police force is at full strength. Several officers have been added and we now have full shifts. Officers also now have in car computers that give them access to more information and allow reports to be done from their vehicles. This is allowing officers to be on patrol a much higher percentage of the time - good news for all of us!
