Council Work Session Results, CBC

Council met yesterday at 3PM in a work session for a presentation by Assistant City Manager Chessie Blanchard on a study done by staff on areas of possible annexation. As part of the Comprehensive Plan, the City looks at areas surrounding the City that can affect our citizens and also areas that possibly benefit from the city that do not necessarily share in the expense of those benefits.

Residents of Travis Oaks Trails and Cardinal Hills 6&7 showed up in force to oppose the annexation of their neighborhoods. After a lengthy public comment session, Council voted to remove those sections to be voted on separately.

Council then voted unanimously to continue to develop a plan for all sections except Travis Oaks Trails and Cardinal Hills 6&7. On a second vote, by a margin of 4-3, Council voted to continue to develop a plan on Travis Oaks Trails and Cardinal Hills 6&7.

There will be several more public hearings before the final vote to annex and the process will take several months.

Here are the study documents presented Council at the meeting. Annex1, annex2 and map.

The City Building Commission (CBC) will meet at 9AM on Thursday, October 28. Here is their agenda.

More as it happens!
