Council, Village of The Hills, MUD, Agendas and more!

Lakeway City Council met in Special Session Monday to start work on the 2010-2011 budget for the City. There was a lot of good discussion and a presentation was made by Steve Jones on the proposed budget. The City is currently looking at keeping the same "effective tax rate" for next years taxes. This would mean the citizens would pay approximately the same taxes as last year.

There were also discussions on expenses for providing police protection and maintaining Highland Parkway and other medians of our roads. Many other items were discussed and many will be discussed at the regular Council meeting Monday, August 16th.

Here is the agenda for that meeting! I should be an interesting meeting, there will be a presentation on the Lohmans Crossing Rehabilitation Project and the Serene Hills project by City Engineer Paul Duncan. We will also get a briefing on the Lakeway Regional Medical Center. There will also be a vote on a Aoning Change for Lakeway Airpark South and the council will look at an Interlocal Agreement with the City of Bee cave for Police Dispatching and Communication Services. Here is a shot of Lohmans nearing completion! On schedule!

Also on the agenda is another Budget discussion and a report on the Development Agreement regarding Crosswater Yacht Club.

Should be lively meeting! Come watch your Council at work!

There was much discussion about pros and cons of this and several items were brought up that require further investigation. Mayor Lindgren proposed that if possible questions will be answered and their will be a vote at the next regular meeting - stay tuned for the results!
