Council Results

Council met in regular session Monday evening and results of that meeting follow:

Paul Duncan, City Engineer, gave an update on the Lohmans project. Everything is on schedule and finished other than some markings and landscaping, etc. and will be completed on schedule. It looks to open Friday if not sooner.

Serene Hills is also nearly complete and waiting on some markings and AT&T to move some underground facilities. Hopefully it will be open within a week or so.

There was a briefing on the Lakeway Regional Medical Care center. Construction on the main hospital has started and they expect construction on the Professional Building and retail center to start within a few months. They are on schedule for completion in about 2 years. Concrete pours are scheduled early morning and will be complete early enough as to not affect school arrivals.

The Zoning change for Lakeway Airpark South was postponed until the October meeting to allow principals of Lakeway Airpark South and Lakeway Airpark to reach an agreement. Council has concerns about the proposed development and also aircraft density on the property. It is apparent that the City wants to maintain an Airpark that is consistent with current facility.

The Interlocal Agreement was approved between Lakeway and the City of Bee Caves for Police dispatching. This is a win win situation for both cities and is working well.

The new Budget was discussed and ideas were presented to tweak the current budget submission. The next workshop is scheduled for August 30th at 2PM.

Council received a briefing from the City Attorney on the Crosswater Yacht Club development agreement. One person spoke on the subject from the audience and no action was taken on this item.

The Consent Agenda was passed without issue. Welcome to Dwight Haley - appointed ZAPCO Chair!

That's it for now, thanks for looking!
