More Weather, Council Agenda

Seems that we're back in almost Summer mode.  Cloudy this morning but clearing this afternoon with a high of 98°?  Ouch!  Cooler the rest of the week with possibly some lows in the low 50's and highs in the 70's and 80's.  Maybe a little chance of rain overnight tonight, 20% chance.  Overall, a pretty nice week!

Here's a link to the agenda for Monday evening.  What was expected with a few surprises thrown in.  The meeting will be videoconference for some reason, when will the city open up?

(6-7)  Items will adopt the bloated budget and new "higher" tax rate.  The issue to me is why are the taxes going up at all - I haven't seen any new values from that rate.  Previous rate increases included some value, a new park acquisition, a road improvement or a new facility.  None of that here.  Maybe some of the other items give a hint.

(8)  Looks like we will see the results of many months of investigation on the Oak's PUD.  Since there's a report, I guess there is no legality issues - we'll see.

(9)  Thoroughfare Plan?  Looks like a plan to classify roads with a plan to enhance some existing roads and a plan for the city to require or build several more roads.  It's in the packet and although some of these ideas look good, most are VERY expensive.  

(10-11) Infamous Executive Sessions.  These have a new turn.  The agenda says council is looking at a Police Complaint and Police Procedures.  Really?  

We have a GREAT Police Chief.  We are way ahead of the curve on procedures - remember body cams?  We had those way ahead of anyone else.  Training?  We do it all!  They keep us safe, don't screw it up.

I guess we'll see what comes out of it.  Maybe they will lower the tax rate and give all the employees their raises.
