Important Stuff, Lake Stuff and More!

I hope some of you got some rain yesterday☔....  None here.  The temperatures were down a little - although it was 98° at one point.  Looks like the storm went East - Houston, Beaumont and Louisiana are taking a beating!  Over 40" of rain in some areas.  My forecast says moderating temperatures with another chance of rain Saturday - we can always hope!🌧  As always, current conditions on my station here.  Enjoy Lakeway sunsets too!

*****Important Stuff*****

1)  Don't forget the Blood Drive tomorrow at the Activity Center from 8 a.m. until noon.  Here's a link to more information.

2)  ACEing Autism is holding an event at the World of Tennis tomorrow.  It's a GREAT event that helps our Autistic neighbors and friends.  Here's a link to more info.  Try to stop by tomorrow to show your support!

*****Lake Stuff*****

Lake Travis is really looking good this year!  It's currently at 674.14, that's only 6.86 feet below full - a good way to end the Summer!  It is ending isn't it????

Couple of reasons for this.  Of course the copious rain received earlier this year filled it up and the strain from irrigation was not as significant as in prior years.

Another reason is the work being done by the Central Texas Water Coalition and our own Lakeway MUD.  They have been working to update the LCRA Water Management Plan.  In fact, there is a meeting to amend the current plan coming up October 24th.  Here is a link to the plan and notice of the meeting.  It is important that folks continue to watch and be sure our water interests are protected.
**********

Updates were approved Monday evening by council - you no longer have to get a license - you do have to have traceable id - microchips, tags and tattoos - this will be interesting.

Other updates on where and how you can tie or restrain your animals.  Updated fees (increased).  If yo want to see the whole deal, here's a link.

More construction on the Lakeway Church - I'm taking weekly pictures of the progress.  We should start seeing more progress soon!

Still have the $75 special for pictures of your property or home and it's getting a little cooler.  Let me know if you want to schedule an appointment - joe@skypict.com

That's all for today - more soon!  Let me know if you would like to be added to my email list - send a note to lakeway@bain.us and I'll get you set up.  It's a good way to find out what's really going on in the city without sitting through a marathon council meeting!
