As promised, following is the police report from Chief Radford for last week. The PD also participated in honoring fallen Dallas officers and the recently murdered San Antonio officer. Please take a moment to thank our officers for their service. They are the ones that keep us safe day in and day out - let them know you appreciate them!
LPD Officers conducted 189 traffic stops, responded to 11 alarm calls, 17 animal calls, 10 collisions, 15 suspicious circumstances calls and handled 107 other types of calls for service for a total of 349.
Routine traffic stops resulted in the following charges, Reckless Driving X 1, Driving while Intoxicated X 2, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia X 4.
Officers responded to a RR 620 S. grocery store for a disturbance call. Upon arrival officers met with a couple that were involved in a verbal argument. Officers separated the parties and one of the subjects was able to get a ride home from another family member. No charges were filed in this case.
Officers responded to the Lakeway City Park in reference to damage to a vehicle. Upon arrival officers learned that a vehicle left in the parking lot had been damaged. It appears the parked vehicle was struck in the driver’s side door by another vehicle. There was heavy damage to the parked vehicle and the other vehicle had left the scene. There is no further information available in this case. This case is being investigated by our traffic officers.
Officers responded to Vista Village Cove in reference to a disturbance call. Upon arrival officers spoke with a female subject who stated she had been assaulted by her boyfriend. The boyfriend had left the scene, but was stopped by another officer down the street. Neither party was injured and neither wanted to file charges. Both parties were released and no charges were filed in this case.
Officers responded to a Lakeway Drive address in reference to a medical call. Officers learned a female at the location had made statements about harming herself. The officers completed an emergency detention form and the female was transported by EMS to Baylor, Scott & White for treatment.
Officers responded to a marina on Lake Travis to assist another law enforcement agency. Officers were advised a disturbance involving ten subjects had taken place and officers from the Texas Game Wardens needed assistance. Officers arrived and helped control the group, while game warden officers issued citations to the individuals involved. No Lakeway charges were filed in this incident.
Detectives were assigned to investigate a report of a Burglary of a Vehicle that occurred in the 200 block of Mooring Circle. Detectives attempted to follow-up with the victim to establish leads in the case, but the victim refused to return the Detective’s phone calls and the case was closed.
Detectives were assigned to investigate a series of Vehicle Burglaries in the parking garage of Baylor Scott & White – Lakeway. During an unrelated traffic stop, Bee Cave PD officers discovered what appeared to be stolen property in their suspect’s vehicle. Upon questioning, the suspect admitted to burglarizing vehicles in the BSW parking garage. Bee Cave PD Officers arrested the suspect on unrelated narcotics charges and transported him to the Travis County Jail. Detectives obtained video footage of the suspect committing the burglaries and returned the majority of the stolen property to the victims. Detectives were able to gather enough evidence to obtain three arrest warrants (Burglary of Vehicle, Class A Misd.) for the suspect who remains at large.
Detectives were assigned to investigate a report of a Forgery that occurred in the 3300 block of RR 620 South. According to the complainant, a suspect came into the banking institution and passed three forged checks totaling nearly $30,000.00. Detectives obtained video footage of the transactions and identified the suspect. Detectives further interviewed the representatives of the company listed on the checks and verified the checks were neither authorized nor authentic. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant (Forgery, State Jail Felony) for the suspect who remains at large.
*** UPDATE *** Detectives were called out to the 300 block of RR620 South in reference to a Burglary of a Business (New Freedom Vapor). According to patrol officers, they responded to the business following an alarm activation and found a side window shattered. Detectives responded to the scene and processed several pieces of evidence. Detectives were able to gather enough evidence from the scene to positively identify the suspect responsible for the burglary and have issued an arrest warrant (Burglary, State Jail Felony) for the suspect. The suspect is currently incarcerated in the Midland County Jail and is awaiting extradition to Travis County.
At 10am on Friday morning all Texas police officers were asked by the Governor’s office to turn on their emergency lights for one minute to honor the fallen Dallas officers and the recently murdered San Antonio officer. LPD officers were at the PD to participate in this event as well.
