Weather, Scams, Tree Disposal, Brown Bag Schedule

I hope everyone had a WONDERFUL Christmas - the weather was OUTSTANDING!

New Years is going to be a little more demanding it appears.  Looks like there will be rain for the next few days (not a bad thing) but we might experience some freezing precipitation along with it on New Years Eve.  That could be a problem in the Lakeway area for sure!

Be careful with fireplaces and propane - we had a person severely injured and a home damaged when propane from a fireplace lighter accumulated and exploded.  Be sure the damper is open and gas is venting when lighting your fireplace.

Don't forget the Brown Bag concert series coming up in January!  Here is a link to the full schedule of events.  Try to take advantage of this GREAT City service hosted by Lakeway Arts Committee.

As it is the Holiday Season, the unscrupulous folks are at a frenzy pace.  One of the latest is a robo call from the IRS - they say they are going to sue you if you don't call them back.  Don't fall for it, it's a scam.  The folks are working the "Microsoft" project hard too - they tell you they (Microsoft technicians) are seeing errors from your pc and want you to let them log on to fix it - Microsoft doesn't call anyone, you can't even call them most of the time.  Hang up an run away!

If you had a live tree for your Christmas Celebration, you can dispose of it in a couple of ways.  Here is a link to more information.

If you're interested in the weather, here is a link to my weather station through Weather Undergound.  I also have a link set up on the top right of the main blog page if your using a PC - Local Weather.  Check it out, I track temperatures, winds, rainfall, etc.

I hope you have a Happy and Prosperous New Year!  I am looking forward to another GREAT year in Lakeway!

If you would like to be added to my email list, please send a note to lakeway@bain.us and I'll fix you up!  Be safe out there and be careful with the upcoming weather event.

Thanks again for all the support!
