Roads, Parks, Directory, and Much More!

The City is working toward it's annual street overlay program.  Council will take this up at the next meeting to consider letting the contract.  The City has had the roads surveyed and are working to repair the worst roads first.  This link is Map 1, this is Map 2, this is Map 3.

Speaking of overlays, according to TxDOT, the contractor has 2 weeks to finish 620 before paying penalties.  We expect the work to resume within a few days - it will be good to get it DONE!

CBC will meet in regular session on Aug. 14, 2014.  Here is that agenda.

The Heritage Commission had some areas surveyed with Ground Penetrating Radar to access the probability of graves in the area of the Strahle Cabin and Graveyard.  they believe they found a grave adjacent to the headstone of A.C. Strahle.
Lakeway MUD will have it's monthly meeting Wednesday August 13th at 9:30 AM at the MUD office on Lohmans Crossing.  Here is that agenda.  Of note is item 6 where they are talking about issuing $7,430,000 in bonds for projects.

Andra and Staff have really been busy this Summer!  Here's the latest Parks and Rec. report outlining all of the activities and work!

Lakeway's Residents Directory has been around and in use by your neighbors for a long time!  Why not get your name in it so your friends can find you!!!  The deadline for residents to submit their contact information to be included in the next Lakeway Residents Directory is Aug. 14.  Lakeway Civic Corporation (LCC) generates, prints, and distributes Lakeway Residents Directory, one of the many civic monetary contributions benefiting Lakeway residents.
To be included in the directory, residents must request that their contact information to be published. Aug. 14 is the deadline to add new entries for the 2015 directory or to make changes to current information.  To request a listing or for information, contact LCC@Lakeway.org or 512-261-5203.

Monday, Council will meet in Special Session at 2PM to  discuss expenditures proposed in the next years budget, set a proposed tax rate and vote on language for a proposed Bond Election.  Here is that agenda.  Currently, staff has recommended we reduce the City's tax rate.  The Bond Election would be to  purchase parkland near the new junior high school on Bee Creek Road for use by the Lake Travis Youth Association and residents.  I should have some diagrams of the proposed land use soon.  Travis County would help with the development along with the LTYA.  Good project!

From Steve Jones:
Travis County reported that their Bee Creek Road contractor has substantially completed work on Phase 1 of that project and is ready to switch traffic to the new pavement. On Aug. 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the contractor will move traffic barriers and traffic will be switched to the new pavement. Expect delays and use caution in the areas as it will be switched in sections. Flaggers will be onsite to assist drivers as needed.

Lakeway Municipal Court collected $101,054.21 in July due to an increase in fine and court cost collections.

The clerks are seeing more window traffic, more online payments and more mail payments.
