Yesterday saw a little area rain, most of it went around Lakeway again. The Airpark area got about 10 drops, some areas got a little more.
There was a lightning strike at the Bee Cave Field of Dreams where 3 kids were injured. One was transported by helicopter to Dell Children's and the other two were taken by ambulance. Hopefully all will recover. Please take care when there is lightning in the area, most strikes happen when storms are approaching and can reach out several miles from the storm.
Drug Take Back Day is coming again on September 27th at a new venue! Here is a link to more information. This is a GREAT program that the Lakeway Police make available to our citizens.
The Lakeway MUD is having a Special Board Meeting Friday August 29th. Here is a link to the agenda.
Last week Council passed an ordinance calling for a Bond Election on November 4th this year. This bond, about $3.8m would provide monies for the City to purchase a 70 acre tract of land near the new middle school on Bee Creek Road. Here is a link to a PRELIMINARY plan for the property, there are a lot of changes expected. If the bond passes the city would own the property and lease it to the operators of the Lake Travis Youth Association that currently uses the property in Bee Cave known as the Field of Dreams. The development of the property would be paid for by Travis County and proceeds from the sale of the current LTYA property. I will have much more on this soon, but would ask that you consider voting FOR this - it is a GREAT project for our kids!
Chance of rain again today, maybe we will lucky and get a little in Lakeway.
