Pretty quiet this week! We received pretty good news on a Grant Application to install mobile data units in the police cars. We asked for 10 and have been approved for 5. These units provide a lot of data to the officers without using radio communication, there is even a mapping application.
Most of the budget work for the city has been moved to September because of a delay in certification from the Travis County Appraisal District.
The new owners of Lakeway Marina are looking into building a parking lot on 5 lots on Star street. This would require a zoning change and the last time it was requested the Marina ran into considerable opposition from the residential neighbors. The city has recommended the Marina meet with their neighbors before filing a zoning request.
Shannon Burke spoke at the Lake Travis Home Builders association and presented the Development Update, Chessie Blanchard (Deputy City Manager) spoke to the group about a proposed increase in the building setbacks for R1 and R1* zoning district.
