Council Meeting Update

Here we go!

Although the economic downturn has affected us in some ways, good planning has enabled us to be financially viable in a tough time!

A new firm was selected for our year-end financial audit. The firm we have used for several years did a great job but the city felt it was a good idea to change firms to assure completeness and a new set of eyes.

The Council denied an appeal from Crosswater Yacht Club that effectively requires them to get permits from the City for any further development.

The Council voted to amend the development ordinance to incorporate trail design standards approved by the City Parks and Recreation Commission.

The Tuscan Village PUD was amended as requested. The amendment reduces the number of dwellings, increases the separation from other developments, increased the size of the library pad and made some changes to the number of parking spaces plus corrected some other errors in the plat.

The Council approved the Road Improvement Agreement with Serene Hill, Ltd. and approved an Advanced Funding Agreement with TXDOT. These agreements will move this project ahead.

The Council approved a settlement agreement resulting from an EEOC claim.

The Council authorized the City Attorney to hire a consultant to conduct an investigation pursuant to a request by Police Chief Gordon Bowers not to exceed $8000.00.

The Council voted to provide reimbursement of $1500 each for initial consultations with attorneys to Mayor DeOme and Council Member Tye as a result of allegations made by Police Chief Gordon Bowers.

All in all a pretty interesting meeting!
