A Little Weather and Corona Virus Update!

*****Weather Update*****

It's been a real dreary few days, kind of went along with the general feeling with all the Virus updates and issues.  We got about 1.6 inches of rain over the last week and a lot of cog and cloudy conditions.  It was cooler than normal and now it's going to warm up - temperatures in the 90's??? this week with a little more rain.

*****Corona Virus*****

As I'm sure you are all aware, it's getting worse.  Travis County is planning to issue a "Shelter in Place" order tomorrow, Tuesday.  That will pretty much bring everything to a standstill.  Government and essential services will be allowed - that includes medical, grocery shopping, and other events that contribute to the health or safety of the people - all while maintaining "Social Distancing".

Paper Isle at HEB
You will notice changes in HEB - they are restricting the number of people in the store and are sanitizing all carts before you pick one up.  You will be required to "Social Distance" when checking out.  One has to wonder where everyone is storing all the paper goods.

BSW is working hard to monitor the situation in Lakeway - they have gone to a "no visitor" policy and are cancelling non emergency procedures.  Governor Abbott has pretty much shut down all other "optional" medical proceedures - dentists included.

Many banks are closing their lobbies.  Austin Telco Federal Credit Union has closed their lobbies and has shortened hours.  You can  still do almost any transaction on line and in their case, all the phone lines are open and manned.

Garbage collection will continue with some changes.  Container waste will be picked up along with recycle in the bin.  No bags or extra pieces will be loaded.  Public Works will accept brush, trimmings and leaves Monday thru Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.  Apparently some people did not get the message because there are bags left on driveways.

*****Pictures?*****

Here's the latest from the Lakeway Church Construction.  When we

go to "Shelter in Place", my guess is the pictures will be on pause for a while.

It really hit home last Sunday when when the parking lot was bare at church time.  I know it's necessary, but it is striking to observe the lack of people in all the parking lots around the city.  Another striking change is the traffic reduction.

Please take all the suggested precautions including "Social Distancing", hand washing and isolation.  We will get through this hopefully sooner than later.

Let's keep a positive attitude and look for the best in the near future.  Thanks for all the support on the blog and let me know if you need information - I'll try to get it out.  If you want to be added to my email list, send a note to lakeway@bain.us and I'll get you added.
