Rain, Election, ZAPCO and More!

It appears we have skipped most of Fall and now a little of our winter is here!  Love the rain!

The owners of 939 Vanguard have retracted their appeal of the administrative action revoking their Short Term Rental license before the Board of Adjustment.  Council is moving forward with amendments of the Short Term Rental (STR) agreement that will allow the City to further regulate STR's in residential zoned areas where Home Owners Associations do not already prohibit them.

Last Tuesday was election day. 11.66% of the registered voters turned out - the Propositions all passed, the bond package for the County Courthouse failed by a small margin.

This week also brought approval of the updated Water Management Plan from TCEQ on a 3-0 vote.  This plan is good news for Central Texas and will keep our Lake Levels higher in the future.

The City is moving forward again on the purchase of the Tennis Courts on Dragon.  This has been approved for some time and we are finalizing the purchase agreement - hopefully by the end of this year.

ZAPCO met in regular session this week.  Here was the agenda.  All items were approved and Council will vote on those recommended at the meeting on November 16th.  Items of interest include the STR recommendations, a dog training and boarding facility on 620 and Debba Dr., and an ambulatory surgery center on Serene Hills at Highway 71.

The City Building Commission (CBC) will meet in regular session next Thursday - here is that agenda.  In addition to regular items, they will be working on changing requirements to make view blocking rules less onerous.  It should be a good discussion!

Travis County Emergency Management release a flood report on November 6th - here is that release.  It looks like 300 properties were affected by the recent flooding.

The road overlay paving project should finish up next week - the big headache will be the paving of Lakeway Blvd. and Lohmans - be aware of probable traffic delays in that area.
