Big Week!
TCEQ required the LCRA use current data for their Water Management Plan - this means they will have to revamp the existing plan to show current conditions, water inflows and drought effects on their plan - makes sense doesn't it! Here's a link to more info.
Mayor DeOme and the City made the KVUE news at 6 Friday evening! Here is a link to the story. As usual, area transportation entities are talking a lot and doing little for the West side of the County. Meanwhile, Hwy 620's traffic issues are getting worse every day. The City Council has been looking at a possible solution by suggesting the construction of a limited access elevated toll road to connect 45 and 130 on the West side to complete the loop. We will have to wait and see where this goes.
The City has now completed getting signs up to restrict truck traffic on the East end of Lakeway Blvd. The City Manager is looking at ways to further restrict through traffic on our main roads. The heavy truck traffic continues to beat our streets to death. Repairs to roadways is very expensive, a good example is the bridge rebuild on Lakeway Blvd.
Speaking of the road construction on the Blvd., it looks like the contractor is nearing completion. He is scheduled to lay asphalt over the repairs Monday - (expect some delays) but the construction should be done by the end of the day Monday!
ZAPCO met in regular session Wednesday - here is that agenda. Everything was approved or recommended to Council as requested.
Friday I had lunch with the Quarter Century Club of Lakeway in the Activity Center. This year I attended not only as a member of the Council but as a full fledged member of the Club. It was a wonderful event and many thanks to Peggy Point for organizing the event. If you have been in Lakeway for 25 years or more, please contact Peggy and get on the list for next year!
Check the next edition of Impact - there will be a comprehensive article on the City's CIP and RR 620 articles. Devin Monk, our new Communication Coordinator has been helping with getting this information out.
Enjoy this wonderful weather and I'll post more as I find out about it!
