Slow Week, Past Council Member Sues City & LCC

Signs, signs, where are all the signs?  It's official, the primary's are over and the signs come down, waiting for the general election in November.  I for one am glad it's over!

Officer Slade Fisher is doing well at home and is in recovery mode.  We are hoping he will reappear in a few weeks and will be back on light duty.  Keep him in your prayers!

Memorial Day was honored in grand style at the Heritage Center.  My estimate is 300-400 folks attended and were entertained by speakers and the Lakeway Sing Alongs.  The Flags were professionally handled by the Lakeway Police Color Guard.  I read that Sun City had a celebration where a Colonel spoke, we had a General!  General Rick Zehrer of The Hills of Lakeway made a moving speech that paid tribute to those that have died in service to our country.  There were representatives from all branches of our armed services that made it even more special.  Thanks you all, it was a beautiful event!

I was at City Hall Friday when the City was served in a lawsuit filed by George Blume.  It appears he has an issue with the possible sale of part of Sailfish and Rebel Park that was turned down in the past election.  He has included the Lakeway Civic Corporation in the lawsuit.  More on this as I attempt to understand it.

From Steve Jones:

Paul Duncan has issued a Certicificate of Accepatance to Discovery Point Phase 2 - a 23k sq. ft. office building.  He has also approved the plans for Lakeway Airpark South and has recommended approval by ZAPCO. Hopefully this will put an end to a decade of development issues on this project.

More discussions on expanding our recycling service by implementing single-stream recycling.  There have been several meetings and we are close  to having an agreement.
================

ZAPCO will meet in regular session next Wednesday at 9:10AM.  Here is that agenda!

In closing, I noticed they have opened 71 South of Bee Caves for a short way - it's better but still a mess.  The project is about 10 months behind.  I be glad when it's finished too!

Thanks for the support!  If you want to be included on my mailing list, send an email to lakeway@bain.us and I'll get you on the list!  Have a GREAT weekend!
