Joe Bain, you did vote 6-0 in favor of NOT annexing North Brooks Hollow on ZAPCO or did that slip you memory. I believe the Lakeway City website states you did vote to NOT annex the area. Now your saying you voted to annex the area. How can you vote both ways? No then Yes?

That is incorrect. I was and am the Council liaison to ZAPCO. I do not vote at ZAPCO meetings although I do attend. Council can not vote as a liaison on any committee meeting - only members can vote. Unfortunately you are misinformed. The only votes on annexation I have made were at Council Meetings.

Are you sure that Crosswater won or is it just a Interlocutory Judgment? One Judge ruled that the entire Stewart Tract is NO COMMERCIAL and another judge ruled against 4 other Judges Opinions and also against the Court of Appeals rulings. His ruling can be appealed and overturned. Of course you are dealing with the 100 year old woman having to defend her deed of 64 years. Does truth matter anymore? Is it purjury to file under oath false information? What has happened to morals? Is the Crosswater tract out of the same Stewart Tract same deed...I would hope you check out all the facts. It may not be smooth sailing just yet!!!

Is there anything that can be done about the jet(s) that takes off the from airport weekly? It is my understanding that commercial aircraft and aircraft over a certain weight are not allowed, yet this jet(s) continues to use the local airport. Had the plane that went off the runway been the jet, there certainly would have been injuries, if not worse.

I am a little late in commenting on this post, but I am wondering if Austin/Travis County EMS is still planning to move from Lohmans to 620. If so, I would plead with them not to do this. We called EMS on Saturday morning for assistance with a toddler in a situation where we felt it was life threatening. We waited 8 minutes (which is good, but still a scary time) with EMS being at Lohman's Crossing. We cannot allow this move because a longer wait time than that is too long in situations where there are life threatening situations. If this move is still on the table, the community needs to get together and ensure it does not happen.

If the Lakeway Resort is not going to respect our City, why should we respect the Lakeway Resort. As a resident, I will never do business with them again and I will do everything in my power to stop people from staying there.

We can't and shouldn't criminalize everything. The City has no business making the driving laws within the City more restrictive than the state driving laws. If the state bans texting, then we automatically have a ban. A City ban on handheld cell phone usage is silly....people driving through Bee Cave and Steiner talking on the phone, would all of a sudden be criminals when they cross the line into Lakeway. Not a good way to keep a good City reputation by ambushing unsuspecting drivers with tickets for laws they didnt even know existed and are more restrictive than the norm.

No one needs to be texting on our narrow streets.

I didn't speak up at the city council meeting last night, but I was very disturbed by the council vote to subsidize a local builder on the presumption that profits from the sale of a home will be donated to LTYA. I don't believe that it is right for Lakeway taxpayers funds to be used for this purpose to benefit a local business. I will be very interested in following up on this to see if, when and how much money is eventially donated.

It was only fire pits and grills in the parks and public areas - it did not affect grilling or outdoor cooking at residences. It was posted at the entrances to the parks and greenbelts if they had equipment.
